About the Northwest Holly Growers Association
The Northwest Holly Growers Association held its first group meeting on July 24, 1931, in Portland, Oregon. The meeting took place at the Public Library at 10th and Yamhill.
Since that time, members have gathered twice a year—once in the spring and again in the fall—to discuss their operations, exchange ideas, and share practical tips for growing and selling Christmas holly. Meetings are typically hosted at a member’s farm or growing site and include a tour of the operation.
From time to time, we also welcome guest experts who share their knowledge on topics of interest to Christmas holly growers, including organic growing techniques, pest control, pruning, floral arranging, and other aspects of the industry.
